For existing availability settings, you can make exceptions for individual students or groups. You might use exceptions to provide an accommodation to a student who is disabled or for technology and language differences.

If the settings exist for a test or survey, you can create these exceptions:

Extended time

With test availability exceptions, you can offer certain students and groups longer access to a test.

  1. Navigate to the test and click the action link (arrow button) to view the test’s menu.

  2. Select Edit the Test Options.

  3. Choose Test Options for this test, including a Timer for the test.

  4. Scroll to the Test Availability section, click on Add User or Group button.

  5. In the pop-up window, choose a user or group and click Submit.

  6. For the user or group, add more time to the Timer according to the accommodation.

  7. Click Submit.

You do not have to change all of the options listed in the Test Availability Exception section. If a student needs extra time, you only have to change the value for the Timer.

Make-up Exam

  4. Scroll to the Test Availability section, click on Add User or Group button.

  5. In the pop-up window, choose a user or group and click Submit.

  6. For the user or group, change the Display After and Display Until date/time according to the make-up date/time chosen.
