Create a course in Blackboard

This guide is for instructors that are the instructor of record for a course listed in myBama, but the course is not showing in Blackboard. An instructor of record can choose to use Blackboard for their sections using the Manage Blackboard Courses tool through myBama.

If courses are missing from your lists in this tool, contact your department to confirm that you have been assigned as the instructor of record.

Instructions

Access the course manager in myBama, Manage Blackboard Courses tool.

  1. In the Term dropdown menu, select the appropriate semester. A list of academic courses will appear if you are the instructor of record in the chosen semester.

  1. Check the LMS Status of your courses. If a course does not list “Blackboard” as the LMS Status, select the Enable Blackboard button under the course list.

  2. Check the box next to the course(s) you wish to create in Blackboard.

  3. Click the Update button.

  4. When the confirmation message appears, choose OK.

The sections will be generated in Blackboard.
