How do I allow specific students to access an assessment?

Instructors may use Adaptive Release to allow one student, or a group of students, to access an assessment in Blackboard. Adaptive Release lets instructors create a set of rules to control how content is released to students in their courses. The rules may be related to availability, date and time, individual usernames, membership in course groups, review status of another item in the course, and Grade Center items such as scores, attempts, and calculated columns.

Instructions

After you create an assignment, test, or other gradable item in Blackboard:

  1. Click on the action link (arrow button) next to the title of the assessment.

  2. Choose Adaptive Release on the menu that appears.

  3. On the next page, choose the appropriate options for the following section (especially membership):

    • Membership: When users or groups are added to this section, only those selected have access to the content. Users must be specified in the Username list or must be in a selected Group.

    • Other sections are explained in the Adaptive Release article.

  4. Click Submit.
