What do I do if grades do not populate in the Grade column in myBama?

Grades may not import into myBama from Blackboard for a couple of reasons.

  1. The column in your Blackboard Grade Center is not formatted correctly. There must be a column in your Grade Center named “Final” and the Primary Display must be Letter or Text.

  2. There may be a duplicate Final column in your Grade Center.

    • If you do not see another column named Final, it may be hidden. Select Manage at the top of your Grade Center. Then choose Column Organization. This view will show you all columns in your Grade Center, even if they’re hidden. If there is a duplicate column, delete that column.

  3. You may have a space before or after “Final” in the name of your column. Remove any extra characters or spaces in the name.

After checking for these, try to import the grades again. If you are having trouble with the import, please contact the Center for Instructional Technology for more assistance.

Most grades imported in myBama, but some blank ones were moved to the top of the list after I tried to submit.

The import application may not populate grades that require another action. For example, the dropdown may remain empty if a student receives an F, I, or another designation. Manually enter these grades into myBama and add the appropriate justification in the following columns.

The grades for my graduate students did not populate in myBama.

This could happen for a couple of reasons.

  1. Graduate students do not receive +/- letter grades. If the letter grades included a +/- in Blackboard, they may not import correctly in myBama.

  2. There may be an issue with the column formatting (as listed above).
