Course Copy Compatibility Chart

What should instructors know before they copy their course from Original to Ultra? This guide lists content that will copy to Ultra seamlessly, content that will copy to Ultra with exceptions/workarounds, and content that will not copy to Ultra.

Discussion forums

Discussions in Original will only copy to Ultra with a full course copy. Discussion threads won’t copy.

An Original long discussion description is not copied to Ultra.

Original discussion forums where students are allowed to make new threads are converted to Ultra Discussion and threads deleted.

A forum where students are not allowed to make threads is converted to an Ultra folder and each thread becomes a discussion within the folder.

Blackboard Ultra supports up to three levels of hierarchy for content nesting on the course content page.

Course content at deeper levels gets moved to the lowest level supported in Ultra Course View. Contents are maintained.
