The New Standard Assignment Interface
In May 2025, we enabled the option to use a new Turnitin assignment interface. This update brings some user interface changes but the service retains the same features. The (New) Standard Assignment will include updated workflows and improved accessibility for all users.
For Summer 2025, instructors have the option to use the Classic Turnitin assignment or the New Turnitin Assignment.
What is different now?
Creating assignments
Creating Turnitin assignments will give instructors 2 options creating the assignment. View this article for more information: How do I create a new Turnitin assignment?
Classic Assignment | New Assignment |

To use the current workflow for Turnitin assignments, choose the Classic Standard Assignment tile. | To use the new workflow and new interface, click Try Now button then choose the New Standard Assignment tile. |

Setting up assignments

The Assignment Inbox
Instructors will access the Assignment Inbox through the same link that students use to submit instead of through Course Tools.

How students submit assignments
