How do I view one group of students in the Ultra Gradebook?

This guide will show instructor and TA users how to use the Filter feature in the Ultra Gradebook.

Example Scenario

The Ultra Gradebook views show the list of students as one large list. By using the Filter, teaching assistants can view and grade their section, or smaller portion of students.

Instructions

Create a group

Before you use the Gradebook filters, groups must be present in the Ultra course.

  1. At the top of your course, navigate to the Groups page.

  2. Select New Group Set.

  3. Choose Manually Assign from the Group Students drop down menu.

  4. Name the group at the top of the page, in the area with the text β€œNew Group Set [date]”.

  5. In the main group area, select Add a group. Then name the group. (Example: Name the group related to a course section.)

  6. Add students in this window or select Done. You can also drag/drop students the left panel, to add to your group. (Example: View the roster in myBama and select students in your section from the list)

  7. Select Save to save the group.

  8. Repeat steps 5-7 for additional groups.

Grading

In the Ultra Gradebook:

  1. In the top-left corner, next to the search function, select the Filter button.

  2. In the Filters pop out, choose an option in the Groups menu.

  3. Select Apply to apply the filter to the Gradebook.

This should allow the user to view only their group in the Gradebook for this session. You may need to access the filter, using these steps, every time you login.
