Adding non-registered users to a live Blackboard course
We have been given new guidance from the Registrar’s Office in regard to student additions to live courses in Blackboard. A live course is one that receives student enrollment automatically from Banner, our student information system.
Details
General
We can only add non-registered/non-enrolled users that have an affiliation with the live academic course like teaching assistant, second instructor, or student mentor. If there is a compelling case to add additional students to the course, we must have approval from the department chair and the Registrar’s Office.
User needs to complete coursework or audit a course
It is important not to add students to a Blackboard course as a substitute for official enrollment. Students who are taking a course for credit, to resolve an incomplete, or for auditing purposes must be formally enrolled through the Registration process.
