Known Issue - Panopto Video Access Request

Known Issue - Panopto Video Access Request

Problem

Current students cannot view a Panopto video in their current course and the instructor receives multiple emails about granting access to the video from a previous semester’s course.

Example Scenario

  • In Fall 2025, 202540-CIT-100-001 has links to Panopto videos embedded on the content area.

  • These videos were uploaded to a folder in Panopto named 202540-CIT-100-001.

  • The instructor and students have access to the videos in that folder because the have access to the Blackboard course.

  • The instructor copies the course content to their new course for Spring 2026, 202610-CIT-100-001. The video links still point to the videos in the Fall 2025 course.

  • The Spring 2026 students do not have access to that course, so they request access to view each video.

  4. In the pop-up window, choose Share.

  5. In the “Add People and Groups” field, begin typing the course name for the students that do not have access. (Example: 202610-CIT-100-001)

  6. Items should populate below the field that match your search. Choose the option that has the course name and “Viewer.”
