Creating a Duplicate Exam for Students Requiring No Respondus LockDown Browser
IMPORTANT
Do not name the test with accommodations indicators like “ODS”.
Do not name the test with students' identifying information.
These could be lead to FERPA violations if the test becomes available to other students inadvertently.
Sometimes it’s necessary to have special rules for a single student or group of students who are taking a test. This article will tell you how to set up release conditions and remove Lockdown Browser from the test.
Instructions
Duplicate the test/exam
In the Course Content area, select the plus sign where you would like to add the duplicate test.
Select Copy Content.
Search for the name of your current course.
Select the arrow to the right of the course name. This allows you to locate specific content within the course.
Check the box next to the test you would like to copy. If your test is in a folder, select the folder first, then check the box.
Select Start Copy in the right-side panel.
Edit the test/exam settings
Select the copy of the test to open it.
Hover your mouse over the title and select the pencil icon to edit the title of the test.
Then select the gear icon to access the Assessment Settings.
In the Respondus section, select the Lockdown Browser dashboard link.
On the dashboard, select the arrow for the new test and select Settings from the menu.
Select the option “Don’t require Respondus Lockdown Browser for this exam”.
Select Save + Close.
*Optional: Add an access code to ensure a level of test security without the Lockdown Browser.
Add release conditions
On the content page, select “Hidden from students” underneath the title of the test.
Then choose Release conditions.
Select the option Specific members or groups.
Type in the name or username of the student to search and then select the student you wish to add to the test. Repeat this step for each student.
Select Save.
