Box - Unable to Edit Microsoft Files Using Office Online

The “Box for Office for the Web” Box app is usually enabled. If this app within the Box environment is disabled, Office Online (Word Online, Excel Online, etc) will only open a document in read-only mode. To resolve this issue:

1. Log in to UA+Box by visiting box.ua.edu and clicking the “Continue” button and entering your myBama credentials.

2. In the left-hand navigation menu, click “Apps”
   
   

   Open

   

3. Search for “Box for Office for web” and click on the search result
   
   

   Open

   

4. Click the “Add” button on the app page.

5. You may need to log out of Box and log back in if the Office files are not immediately editable.
