Titanium faculty/staff user: Access Titanium using a laptop

Problem

Solution

These scenarios are for accessing Titanium using a laptop and are based on where you are and how the laptop will connect to UA’s HIPAA network.

Where are you?

• On campus: Use WiFi or connect the laptop to the network jack in your office

  • Scenario 1: Using HIPAA WiFi

  • Scenario 2: Using eduroam WiFi

  • Scenario 3: Connecting to network jack in your office

• Off campus:

  • Scenario 4: Use available network – WiFi or network cable – AND Cisco AnyConnect

Scenario 1: You’re on campus using WiFi and see the HIPAA WiFi

1. In the list of available WiFis, look for the HIPAA WiFi

2. Select the HIPAA Wifi and log in using your myBama username and password

3. You should be able to connect to the TITANIUM folder or Shared Documents folders on \\titanium.ua-net.ua.edu and log in to the Titanium application

Scenario 2: You’re on campus using WiFi and don’t see the HIPAA WiFi

1. If you don’t see the HIPAA WiFi, connect to the eduroam WiFi

2. Log in using your myBama username and password

3. You should be able to connect to the TITANIUM folder or Shared Documents folders on \\titanium.ua-net.ua.edu and log in to the Titanium application

Scenario 3: You’re on campus connecting the laptop to the network jack in your office

1. Log in to the laptop using your myBama username and password

2. You should be able to connect to the TITANIUM folder or Shared Documents folders on \\titanium.ua-net.ua.edu and log in to the Titanium application

Scenario 4: You’re off campus

1. Connect to the WiFi or network available where you are

2. Launch Cisco AnyConnect and log in to uavpn.ua.edu/hipaa
   
   

   Open

   

3. In the VPN screen,

   1. If you see uavpn.ua.edu/hipaa as an option in the drop-down menu, select it

   2. If you don’t see uavpn.ua.edu/hipaa as an option, click where you see UA Campus and type uavpn.ua.edu/hipaa (this step should need to do done only the first time you’re connecting to the HIPAA VPN)

   3. Click Connect
      
      

      Open

      

4. In the username and password screen,

   1. User name: If your myBama username is not in the username field, type it

   2. Password: Type your myBama password

   3. Second Password: Type push

5. After you Approve the DUO prompt, you will be connected to the UA HIPAA VPN
