SARS user users who will meet with students, e.g., advisors, tutors, coaches, etc., need a short name and a user name. The short name is what will appear on THE GRID in SARS Anywhere; the user name is the name they will use to log in to SARS.

SARS users who will not meet with students, e.g., support staff members, do not need a short name. They need only a user name.

Instructions

  1. Log in to SARS Anywhere Admin, sarsweb.ua-net.ua.edu/SARSAdmin/Main.aspx#

  2. Click Short Names (left sidebar)

  3. In Actions (right sidebar), click Add

  4. At the bottom, fill in:

    SARS Admin Short Name New Short Name

    1. Short Name (what is shown to your SARS Users on THE GRID),

    2. Full Name (what is shown to the students in eSARS),

    3. Title

    4. Alternate ID and Web URL (see note, below)

  5. In the Actions sidebar, click Save

  6. In the Actions sidebar, click Locations

  7. In the Short Name Location Selection window:

    1. Click the checkbox beside the Location(s), the user will be associated with

    2. Under Active, change the drop down to Yes (this allows the user to “be” on THE GRID and to have a Master Schedule)

    3. Under Allow in e-SARS,

      • No means the person nor their available appointments will show up in the Location’s eSARS site (the online portal where students can book their appointments)

      • Yes means the person and their available appointments will shows up in the Location’s eSARS site

  8. Click Save
