Instructions

In a Blackboard course, read the instructions for the Panopto assignment. Then follow these steps to begin to create your recording:

  1. Click on the link for your Panopto video library. The link should be provided in the assignment instructions.

  2. Click on the Create button.

  3. Choose the first option, Record on Mac/PC, to record with the Panopto application.

  4. In the next menu, choose the first option, Launch Panopto.

You must install the Panopto software before launching the application. If you have not installed Panopto on your computer, choose one of the download options for your computer.

5. Panopto will open on your computer. You will see a webcam video section and a desktop video section.
Webcam Video: If your computer has a webcam, this section will record you as you present. You can choose “None” for the Video option in this section to turn it off.
Desktop Video: Panopto will record whatever is on your desktop when you begin the recording. Make sure you have your presentation software or other content ready before you press “Record.”

6. Click the Record button when you are ready to begin your recording.
7. When you are ready, click the Stop button to end the recording.
8. In the Recording Completed pop-up, you can rename the session and add description text as needed.
9. Click the Upload button when you are ready to upload the video to Panopto.
