Connecting to Wifi on Android

Get Connected

  1. Go to your device settings.

  2. Tap Wifi.

  3. Connect to eduroam.

  4. For EAP method, select PEAP.

  5. For Phase 2 authentication, select MSCHAPV2.

  6. In the domain field, enter ua.edu.

  7. For CA certificate, select Use System Certificate

  8. Online Certificate Status, Request Certificate Status

  9. Enter your mybamausername@ua.edu or mybamausername@crimson.ua.edu email address in the Identity field.

  10. Leave “Anonymous Identity” blank

  11. Enter your myBama password in the Password field.

  12. Tap Connect.

If this is not successful, you may need to forget the network. Forgetting a network will reset your connection and prompt you to connect again.


How to forget a network on an Android Devices

  1. Go to Settings.

  2. Go to Wifi.

  3. Press and hold on the network you want to forget.

  4. Tap forget this network (wording may vary depending on your device).

  5. Attempt to connect again.


On some Android devices, you may be prompted to change the authentication type from EAP-TLS to LEAP. If you are still unable to connect, please contact the IT Service Desk.
