What is an application in TRAK? Isn’t it the same thing as my SARS location?

TRAK-Enter, which is typically run on a computer or tablet at the front desk of your physical service unit, allows students to:

  1. Notify the person they’re meeting with of their arrival

  2. Check-in/check-out of study hall or other “come-and-go” sessions

  3. Drop-in without an appointment to meet with the “first available”

  4. Make a “future” appointment without using eSARS or asking a SARS user to book the appointment in SARS Anywhere

When TRAK-Enter is launched, you much choose an “application.” Depending on how many physical locations your service unit has and what services are offered at each of them, you may have one application used at all your physical locations or one application for each physical location.

For example, typically, your favorite restaurant chain has a standard menu so, no matter, what town you’re in, you can go in and order your favorite meal. However, some restaurants have a different set menu for each day of the week and, maybe one day is a conglomeration of fan favorites.

TRAK-Admin is used to configure TRAK-Enter’s “applications.” The application is simply a name. The power of TRAK is what you can do with that name. You can pick and choose from each of your SARS locations.

For example, Capstone Center for Student Success has about 10 SARS locations, e.g. Capstone-Academics, Capstone-Coaching, Capstone-Stu Serv, and Capstone-Tutoring, and from each of these locations, what service(s) and functions do you want to offer students. Capstone-Learning Commons is one of their TRAK applications and includes buttons allowing students to:

  1. Capstone-Coaching: Drop-In for Coaching visit

  2. Capstone-Tutoring: Check In/Out for Tutoring Learning Groups

  3. Capstone-Academics: Check In/Out of Study Hall

The physical location for Capstone-Stu Serv is different from the other three so it’s not included in the Capstone-Learning Commons TRAK application. Instead it has it’s own which allows students to:

  1. Make a Future Appointment

  2. Walk-In Advising Visit
