When you launch TRAK-Admin or TRAK-Enter and you get error message Data source name not found, here are the steps to resolve the problem.

These steps need to be done by someone who is a local admin on the computer.

Instructions

  1. On the computer’s desktop, find the TRAK-Admin or TRAK-Enter shortcut.

  2. With the mouse, right-click the icon and select Open file location

    Right-click shortcut and choose Open file location

  3. This should open a Windows File Explorer to E:\SARS\Trak.

  4. From there, navigate into the NEW_SQL_DRIVER folder

    Navigate to NEW_SQL_DRIVER folder

  5. Inside the NEW_SQL_DRIVER folder, there should be a single file, sqlncli.msi.

  6. With the mouse, right-click on this file and select Install

    Install sqlncli.msi
