Perusall Setup in Blackboard Original course view
UA is exploring options for purchasing an institutional license, but until that decision is made, instructors may use Perusall freely by uploading their own content.
When adding a Perusall link, you will see options for purchasing content and/or charging students. This brief guide will walk you through the process to demonstrate how to bypass those options.
Instructions
From within your Blackboard course:
In a content area, like the Course Home Page, click on Build Content.
Navigate to Perusall in the non-alphabetical list (we are also frustrated that it’s not alphabetical) and select it. You will be redirected to the dashboard of your Perusall account.
Click the Link to my Home Page button. You will see a notice that says” Success. Your assignment has been linked to your Home Page. Close this window and refresh your browser.”
On your refreshed Blackboard page, click on the new Perusall link.
Perusall setup
In Step 1 - Welcome, choose Start with empty course.
In Step 2 - Select Content, the user can select a book OR skip this step.
In Step 3 – Student cost, Perusall presents a SUGGESTED price to charge students. Select the $0 option. You may also review and select other actions.
You will be prompted for more information. You may click OK to skip this screen OR choose options and click OK when you are finished.
In Step 4 – Basic settings, complete the requested information according to your preferences.
Click Continue to finish the setup.
