How do I edit captions in a Panopto video?

To edit captions in a video, you must have Creator access to that video.

If you need help with permissions in Panopto, contact CIT.

Instructions

Start in Panopto’s Video Editor:

1. On the left-hand side of the screen, click the Captions tab.

2. You should see a list of automatically-generated captions and their associated timestamps like the example below.

3. Find and click the caption you want to edit. Clicking the caption will make it editable.

4. When you are done editing that individual caption, hit Enter.

5. When you are finished editing all captions in the video, click the Apply button at the top right corner of the page to save changes.
