What does a new user need in SARS?

Scenario #1: User is “transferring” from another SARS location on campus

  1. Send an email to itsd@ua.edu and cc: Gina Dykeman and the SARS admin for the user’s “old” SARS location. We can “move” the user to their new SARS location.

    1. Subject: SARS user moving to [your location] from [other location]

    2. Body: Please include:

      1. The user’s SARS User Name and Short Name

      2. The user’s first day in your location

Scenario #2: User is new to SARS at UA

  1. User name: All SARS users need a user name.

  2. Short name: Only users who will meet with students, for example, an advisor or tutor, need a short name.

  3. Master Schedule: Only users who meet with students with booked appointments need a Master Schedule in SARS Anywhere. Users who only meet with walk-in/drop-in students do not need a Master Schedule.

SARS Admin: What do I need to set up so the user can export their booked SARS appointments to Outlook 365?

To complete the set up for exporting the user’s booked SARS appointments to Outlook, you need to:

  1. Send an email to itsd@ua.edu:

  2. Subject: Add [User Name] to AD group SAR-EXCHANGE-EXPORT-ACCESS-RESTRICTION

  3. Body: Please assign this to Systems. Add [User Name], [myBamaUserName@ua.edu] to AD group SAR-EXCHANGE-EXPORT-ACCESS-RESTRICTION
