Enter Midterm or Final grades in Blackboard
Midterm and Final Grades can be imported into myBama, but the grades must be formatted correctly to do so.
Instructions
Open the Blackboard Learn course in which you are preparing grades for submission.
Go to the Full Grade Center.
Find or create a column to represent the Final/Midterm grade. There are a few options for types of columns:
Choose Create Column to enter grades manually or import from Excel with no calculations done in Blackboard.
Choose Create Calculated Column then Total Column to calculate grades based on the sum of all or some of your Grade Center columns. You can use this column type to drop grades such as the lowest exam score as well. Learn more about total columns here.
Choose Create Calculated Column then Weighted Column to calculate grades based on percentage totals. Learn more about weighted columns here.
Choose Create Calculated Column then Average Column to calculate grades based on the sum of all or some columns divided by the number of columns. Learn more about average columns here.
The column must have Primary Display type of Letter or Text. To do this, click on the dropdown arrow to the right of the column title. Click on Edit Column Information. Set the Primary Display to Letter or Text and choose Submit.
In order to use Blackboard’s automatic conversion from score or percentage to letter grade, the primary display must be Letter. The default letter grade schema in Blackboard Learn is shown below and can be edited in the Grade Center by selecting Manage then Grading Schemas.
The Midterm column MUST be named Midterm with an uppercase M and no spaces or dashes in order to pull the grades into myBama.
The Final column MUST be named Final with an uppercase F and no spaces or dashes in order to pull the grades into myBama.
